A 22-year-old motorcyclist was injured Thursday when a car rear-ended him at a Gilbert intersection.

According to Capt. Mike Connor, Gilbert fire spokesman, the man was waiting at a stoplight at Higley and Germann roads at 10:30 p.m. when the collision occurred.

The man was dragged across the intersection and the car fled, Connor said.

He was flown to a Scottsdale hospital and is expected to recover.
