Mesa officials announced Friday morning that William J. Jabjiniak will start Oct. 1 as economic development director.
Jabjiniak beat out two other candidates after a 120-day national search.
His experience includes business management, housing, land use and community development in Richmond, Va. He also served as director for economic development for the city of Richmond.
He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, N.H., and a master’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in community economic development from Southern New Hampshire University.
Mesa hasn’t had a permanent director since 2005, when Richard Mulligan went to Chandler.
