A Queen Creek woman pleaded guilty Friday to theft and will serve 2 1/2 years in prison, said Attorney General Terry Goddard.

According to her plea agreement, Ann Gutierrez, 36, pleaded guilty to diverting money from Evergreen Healthcare nursing home management company in Phoenix for her own use. Gutierrez had been an office manager at the company.

Officials said an audit of Evergreen Healthcare determined that Gutierrez had altered computer records and submitted to the corporate office requests for payments in the names of her family, friends and others. She was accused of diverting $163,830.
