Applications are now available for Arizona students who want to participate in the 2011 Polly Rosenbaum Writing Contest. It is open to students in grades seven through 12 in Arizona's public schools.
The theme is "Sustainable Communities: What That Means to Me and to Arizona."
Entry forms have been mailed to schools and are available online. The deadline is Jan. 14.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria: proper grammar and word usage, relevance to the established theme, creativity, and effective use of the six-trait writing rubric.
