Another scorching hot day in the desert areas of Arizona. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning until 8 p.m. with predicted high temperatures ranging from 110 to 116 degrees Friday.

The excessive heat warning covers the south-central Arizona desert areas in Maricopa County and north-central Pinal County.

Not much relief is expected overnight with temperatures ranging from 85 to 90 degrees.

To protect yourself, stay in the shade, drink lots of water and limit outdoor activities.
