With expected daily crowds of up to 150,000, golf fans on their way to the FBR Open will have to keep their eyes on the road. Scottsdale has set up 10 cameras to monitor traffic flow and transportation officials will alter timing of the traffic signals if necessary.

Without those signal changes, Dressel said, there would be “gridlock. Absolute gridlock.”

Even with that plan in place, motorists are asked to drive safely and pay special attention to message boards and signs to guide them around the event.

HOW TO GET THERE

The FBR Open is held at TPC of Scottsdale, north of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, between Loop 101 and Scottsdale Road.

Coming from south Scottsdale or East Valley: Take Loop 101 north to Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard. Drive north to Bell Road, go east to 94th Street, then south into the parking lot entrance.

Coming from West Valley: Take Loop 101 to either Scottsdale or Hayden roads. Head south. From Scottsdale Road, take Princess Drive east to find parking. From Hayden Road, look for entrance on the west side of the street, just south of Loop 101.
