The Higley Unified School District governing board asked administrators Thursday to take legal action regarding construction problems at Power Ranch Elementary School.
The district has been battling issues at the school since it opened in 2002 in southeast Gilbert, including gym walls separating at the roof, cracks in the stucco near outside windows and concrete slabs pulling away from the building.
The district will now work with the contractors, architects and engineers who completed the project to find a solution. The district’s own architect and engineers will also create a grading and drainage plan. Then the entities will consult with an attorney and a third party to see if a solution can be reached.
