Neither Public Televison nor Public Radio are lefty or righty movements. They are non-commercial. They address topics in a largely non-partisian, apolitical way. Occasionally they do adress subjects about which some who are partisan disagree, either with the treatment or the apparent conclusions reached. Yet most of the time, the programs leave open conclusions as to what should or ought to be done to address identified problems. In the main, these media seek to be educational and non-confrontational.
If becoming educated offends a partisan, then let it be so.

Ironic that the only period photo they could find was a fund raising pic from the 1960s. That pretty much sums up KAET:
Fifty years of endless pledge drives.
And for what? Largely for British programs imported by an overpaid and largely incompetent staff.

Thank goodness for those endless pledge drives, making it possible to have a program viewed supported, not advertizer supported.
And who said the photo was the ONLY one that could be found? When one does a 50 year commemoration, using last year's photos some how seems unappropriate.
And where Great Brittian has a totally public TV scheme, wouldn't you expect much of what we see to come from that tradition? The alternative would be to have more pledge drives to pay for more American productions!
I did hear Big Bird speak with a British accent once. Maybe he's a closited Brit?
Snipes, none of your points are well taken, not a single one!

I like ch 8, I catch a show from time to time. I can see some political bending but look I past it because the shows I like have content. They leave it up to you take it in.

Sort of bit off, since there are food shows.
10 lbs pork but
cut into small pieces to fit into a grinder, I also like to trim fiers runs in the meat but leave the nice fat.
Grind
layer it out about 3/4" thick
nice coat of fresh minced garlic
some onion minced fine not to much
Good heavy coating of paprika
fair costing of Cheyenne pepper
sprinkle of black pepper
a touch of salt
mix well
fry a patty taste (this always best done with family and friends)
Repeat the steps until it is to everyone's liking.
Then put the casing attachment on the grinder, you can get casing form your butcher.
Stuff. from here you can smoke cold is the best I have not smoked in a long time sometime in the future I am going to try and smoke with mesquite.
PS
There is my recipe Rich.

Thank goodness for public television! Yeah! [beam]
I watch very little television, but when I do, more times than not, it is KAET. That is because I hate advertisements interrupting my viewing enjoyment .
Good job KAET

I had to laugh when it was mentioned that the John Birch Society said that KAET was Left of the Middle in 1972. Well 39years later it KAET's current 7pm news program "Horizon" is way, way past "Left of Middle"...more like "Left of the Left". The "Horizonte" program is so pro-Illegal Alien Amnesty that the viewer almost feel like he is watching an English translation of a program from a Mexico-base TV Station.
When a Democrat lawmaker or Liberal/Left-leaning guest is on, the Moderator Ted Simmons throws out "cotton-candy questions" and it almost seems that these guests knew the questions before hand, their answers are so "pat". But let one of the Republican..."Hated Big 3 (Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Senator Russell Pearce and Governor Jan Brewer)" appear on Horizon and Mr. Simmons might as well be wearing full body armor and combat boots because it is "All Out War". The questions (salvos more like it) come fast and furious. These Republican guests can forget about getting one single.. "poof".. question like the Democrats did.. to make them look good. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a Phoenix Fire Department "EMT"...in the wings to staunch the blood flow from Mr. Simmons "interogation". The worst of Horizon's.. " Left of Left-wing" no-holds-barred attacks on the Republican "Big Three" occurs on the Friday "Journalists Roundtable" on Friday nights on "Horizon". This is when Mr. Simmons drops all pretenses of being a "Moderate-or" and gets to "lead the pack" of 3 local Liberal reporters on a "feeding frenzy" of the week's Republican activities (you will never, ever hear anything "bad" said about the Democrats in the Legislature). They ridicule (mentioning Gov. Jan Brewer's 13 seconds of silence over and over and over , ad nuseum.... Sheriff Joe Arpaio's latest legal battle or Senator Pearce's latest anti-Illegal Alien legislation) demean and denigrate anything Republican, then after they have savaged the Body Politics to a pulp....it's time for Mr. Simmons to ask his "inevitable" question, like a preacher to his choir of "nodding heads"....."WHAT IS WRONG WITH ARIZONA"...as if the people of Arizona were some sort of ...'DISEASE".. to be eradicated by a healthy dose of good ole Democrat Socialist..."clear thinking"...lol.
Even if tax-payers "only" support KAET to the tune of $1.8 Million Dollars year in an year out....KAET SHOULD BE HONORING THAT SACRIFICE AND KEEP THE LEFTIST AGENDA OUT OF THE REPORTING. Let the tax-payer KAET supporter make up their own minds about the issues at hand.
