A man who told police he was a drug user and a patient at Magellan Mental Health Services was arrested in Mesa on Wednesday on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run-related offenses after he recklessly drove through the city’s downtown area, nearly hitting at least one pedestrian, police said.
Guy Snider, 44, of Gilbert, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault about 9 a.m. after he was seen speeding in a silver pickup truck westbound on Main Street from Gilbert Road, police said.
Police said they were able to catch Snider near Mesa police headquarters at 130 N. Robson. He was transported to a hospital for observation before he was booked into a Maricopa County jail.
