Mark, I'm happy to report the offending signs are gone. Thank you, citizens of Mesa. Our city is no longer nazi headquarters. You've proven they're not welcomed here anymore. Great job of removing the signs ahead of the Monday deadline and without wasting our tax dollars![beam]

Russell Pearce was first elected to his present office in 2000 and the voters in his district keep sending him back to the Senate. Not being an expert in the devious ways of politics, I could be wrong but my gut tells me that he, like Arpaio, will serve as long as he wishes to.
And speaking of wasting tax dollars, this recall is a spectacular waste of money perpetrated by those who oppose Pearce's pit bull focus on ridding our state of illegal immigrants.

When a free people are allowed to exercise their rights, not only to representation, but for anything else, it is never a waste of money. You may not agree with the recall effort, I may not agree with it, but it is the right of the people of district 18 to do exactly what has been done. God forbid that should ever change!

Recall by the few because they disagree with Pearce's philosophy on illegal immigration when the recall is doomed to failure is a huge waste of taxpayers money. Haddie and her minority should have to squander their own money on this ill conceived attack on illegal immigration control advocates. Calling this a free people's right is rediculous and not a people's right at all, although it may be legal. It's a minority right to cry cause they aren't getting their way and make the taxpayer pay for it.

There are many who agree with Russell Pearce on immigration but who are tired of the way that he is doing his job. A few things that have surfaced:
    * He has a history of abusing his spouses (yes, Lu Ann is his second victim).
    * He took $38,000 in benefits from the Fiesta Bowl and then said he paid it all back (lie)
    * He created a hit list of those who were not permitted in the Senate Building and then lied that he hadn't done so. Capitol Police confirmed that he did this.
    * He and his cronies are bullies when it comes to Republicans who do not march lock step with him. Ask Bill Koponicki [(R) Safford]about the threats he received when he voted against one of RP immigration bills.
    * He often cites the 10th amendment saying the federal gov'ment shouldn't tell states what to do but he is constantly foisting his demands on cities and counties (and often without providing the funding necessary to implement his directives).
    * He misapplies the clear language of the Constitution to foster his xenophobic views. The 14th Amendment says your child is an American if it is born here.
    * He's behind stealth candidate Olivia Cortez, an Hispanic Mormon, in his attempt to take votes away from other candidates.
    * He claims that the recall is being fueled by outsiders, but when you look at his campaign contributors for 2010, he received about 90% of his contributions from out of his district (18) and a majority from out of state. Just look who's behind him now, ex-senator Bay Buchannan from Texas and ex-represenative Tom Tancredo from Colorado. He's a puppet for out of state interests, plain and simple.
    * He is purposefully trying to confuse the issues in the recall by focusing on Randy Parraz instead of the other candidates who have announced. Parraz is not a candidate.
Simply stated, the more we know about Russell Pearce, the more we don't want him to be involved in governing our state. He is a proven liar and will say or do anything to keep in power.
