A woman was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash in Apache Junction on Thursday. After the 5 p.m. crash, south of the intersection of Ironwood Drive and Baseline Road, the woman's car caught fire, Apache Junction police spokesman Jay Swart said.

Police pulled her from the burning vehicle before it became fully involved.

CPR was performed on the woman but she was pronounced dead at the

scene, Swart said. Her name was not released pending notification of next of kin.

The other driver suffered only minor injuries, Swart said. Other details were not immediately available.
