Mesa's Rhodes Junior High World Studies Academy is hosting a "GeoSummit," this week. This year's theme is "freshwater issues."
Every homeroom class has been assigned a country to represent via a country pavilion, where students will present information about the country and its freshwater issues.
Students will "tour" neighboring GeoSummit Country Pavilions and write about their observations. They will also attend an assembly with Pam Justice, program coordinator for Arizona Project WET.
Her presentation will feature watershed and groundwater models, as well as freshwater issues of pollution, water conservation, and sustainable solutions.
