A Mesa teen reported to authorities that he was held at gun point Thursday night and robbed of $1,000 cash at a Gilbert apartment complex parking lot, according to police.

Lance Nicholson, 18, said he was walking through the parking lot, located at 2300 W. San Angelo St., when two men got out of a black Nissan Altima and robbed him of the money , according to Gilbert police Lt. Joe Ruet.

Nicholson told police the men then fled in the car. He said he had previously met them through a mutual friend, Ruet said.

The robbery occurred at 6:18 p.m. Police are investigating the case.
