A 2-year-old boy, who was not breathing when pulled from a swimming pool Sunday, was taken to Banner Desert Medical Center.
The child was playing near the pool at a home in the 2200 block of West Del Campo with a group of older kids who could not reach him when he fell, according to police.
The boy's father was nearby cleaning a barbecue grill and jumped into the pool and got the boy out, performing CPR on him before emergency personnel arrived and took over.
The boy was listed in fair condition on Tuesday, according to Capt. Forrest Smith, a spokesman for the Mesa Fire Department.
