PHOENIX - The Arizona Legislature is back at full strength now that the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has appointed a replacement for a lawmaker who resigned after being arrested.

Attorney David Funkhouser III is the supervisors' choice to replace fellow Phoenix Democrat Mark DeSimone.

DeSimone stepped down from the Legislature after being accused of domestic violence.

Funkhouser was among three Democrats nominated by District 11 party officials to replace DeSimone.

Funkhouser's appointment runs through early January, when lawmakers elected in November take office.

The 2008 legislative session ended in June, and Funkhouser won't get to do much as a legislator unless there's a special session later this year.
