A 24-year-old Arizona State University student died after the bicycle he was riding was struck by a man driving an SUV on Monday.
Christopher Volpe of Tempe was pronounced dead at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital soon after the crash about 6:30 p.m., according to Tempe police.
Volpe was riding his bike east on University Drive near Ash Street about 6:30 p.m. when he was struck by the SUV, police said.
It was not known whether the driver of the SUV will face any citations or charges.
Volpe was wearing a helmet.
