As part of National Prisoner of War and Missing in Action Day, workers at the Boeing plant in Mesa will hold a ceremony Friday morning.

At 8 a.m., the POW/MIA flag will be raised in front of the plant's main building, 5000 E. McDowell Road at the corner of Higley Road.

The event also will feature words from retired Navy Cmdr. Gordon Paige, who spent more than 200 days in captivity during the Vietnam War.

Army Lt. Col. Richard Debany, senior military member at the plant, and Tony Ham, the site's manager, also will speak during the event.
