Two East Valley police officers who died last year in the line of duty will be honored Sunday in Washington, D.C., where their names will be engraved on the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial during a candlelight vigil kicking off National Police Week.

Gilbert officer Rob Targosz and Tempe officer Kevin Weeks are among 145 fallen law enforcement officers nationwide, whose names will be dedicated. The wall now contains a total of 17,917 names, 232 of them from Arizona.

U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales will speak at the vigil and lead the lighting of the candles and reading of the names.
