Nine Mesa residents have been arrested following a two-day drug investigation at a Mesa apartment complex.

Officers were at the Suites of America, 825 S. Dobson Road, last week when a security guard told them about an apartment that was seeing an unusual amount of foot and bicycle traffic, said Mesa Sgt. Audrey Glemba, a bicycle unit supervisor.

A few days later, two patrol officers arrested someone who said he had bought methamphetamine at the same apartment the security guard had mentioned, Glemba said.

On Tuesday, three people were arrested leaving the apartment with methamphetamine, Glemba said. One of them, Beny H. Long, 56, was found with 9 grams of the drug, police said.

On Wednesday, a group of bicycle, community action team and patrol officers served a search warrant on the apartment and arrested additional individuals who were seen going into that apartment and a second one.

Found in the apartment were small amounts of marijuana, methamphetamine and prescription painkillers and dozens of syringes and methamphetamine pipes, police said.

Crammed inside the one-bedroom apartment were two boa constrictors, hundreds of computer parts, a punching bag, a motor scooter and several bicycle frames detectives believe were traded for methamphetamine.

Arrested on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia were Cynthia A. Dorey, 40, the apartment's lease holder, and Tracy L. Noble, 31.

Arrested on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs were Joseph C. Riley, 28, and Jacob M. McReynolds. 25.

Paul J. White, 30, was arrested on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs, trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant. Rosie Wilson, 33, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, a warrant and aggravated assault on a police officer.

Long was arrested on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and Jessica L. Moore, 23, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen credit card, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to provide identification. Jennifer Allman, 23, was arrested on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs.
