Gilbert is hosting a forum at 6 p.m. Tuesday on "Gangs & Drugs: What parents need to know" at the Gilbert Municipal Center, 50 E. Civic Center Drive.
The forum will provide examples of how teenagers can hide drugs or conceal gang activity from their parents and other adults, such as hiding paraphernalia inside toys or jars of pens. Experts will take questions and present information on how today's technology and economy are affecting childhood and the peer pressure kids face. Parents will also learn how to keep an eye out for behavioral changes that could indicate there's a problem with drugs or gangs, and the dangers that empty houses pose to their neighborhoods.
