All fire restrictions affecting the Tonto National Forest will be lifted starting at 8 a.m. Thursday, forest officials report.
The U.S. Forest Service attributes the change to increased moisture and humidity from the monsoon season.
The prohibitions included campfires and charcoal or wood stoves.
