All fire restrictions affecting the Tonto National Forest will be lifted starting at 8 a.m. Thursday, forest officials report.

The U.S. Forest Service attributes the change to increased moisture and humidity from the monsoon season.

The prohibitions included campfires and charcoal or wood stoves.

For more information, call 602-225-5200 or visit the forest Web site at www.fs.fed.us/r3/tonto.
