Engineers will discuss construction plans for widening Gilbert Road in south Chandler at an informational meeting 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 3 in the terminal building at the Chandler Municipal Airport, 2380 S. Stinson Way.

Gilbert Road is primarily a two-lane road south of Queen Creek Road to the city’s border at Hunt Highway and is a major arterial corridor with weekday traffic volumes averaging 29,000 vehicles per day north of Ocotillo Road to the Santan Freeway stretch of Loop 202.

The city has hired Achen-Gardner Construction to widen the road to six lanes (three lanes in each direction) between Queen Creek and Ocotillo roads beginning in late December or early January.

For questions or concerns, call the project hotline, (480) 898-4100, or see www.gilbertroadimprovements.com
