A man who died after crashing his Ford pickup truck into a barrier on the entrance ramp of the Loop 101 from the U.S. 60 near the Tempe-Mesa border Thursday morning was identified as a 20-year-old from Tempe.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officers identified the man as Matthew Dae Lewis. He was driving westbound on the U.S. 60 about 2:30 a.m. when he lost control of his truck on the entrance ramp to the 101 and hit a barrier. Lewis was ejected from his truck as it rolled over and he died at the scene, according to Bart Graves, a DPS spokesman.

DPS said there was no information available on whether alcohol was involved.
