In the wake of an announcement from the United States Department of Agriculture regarding a historic recall of beef, the Maricopa Unified School District is seeking to assure parents that no tainted beef was served to students.

The Arizona Department of Education ordered that all beef received from the Westland/Hallmark’s Southern California slaughterhouse be destroyed. In a release from the district, MUSD Food Services Director Suzette Moe said the district will comply with the ADE order and emphasized that none of the tainted beef had been served to students.

For more information, call the district office at (520) 568-5142.
