The Arizona Department of Transportation and the Department of Public Safety closed interstate 40 between Flagstaff and Winslow due to poor visibility caused by blowing dust.

The freeway is closed in Winslow at milepost 252 and at the Meteor Crater Rest Area at milepost 234.5.

The closures will stay in affect until visibility improves, the agencies said.
