Prickly lettuce is not appetizing. You really don’t want anything to do with puncture vine, devil’s claw or sprangletop, either.

The hot summer sun is drying up Arizona’s nasty weeds, spreading pollen and sowing the seeds for next year’s crop. Removing these weeds improves the look of your yard and your whole neighborhood and could prevent crime. Not only that, but Tempe City Code requires residents to keep their properties tidy and to cut down any weeds more than 12 inches tall.

To help residents, Tempe 11, Tempe Community Relations and the Tempe Community Development Department have created a short video to show how you can help make your neighborhood look better.
