Tropical moisture wrapping around a low-pressure system brought showers to the Valley on Friday morning. Rainfall amounts by 9:45 a.m. reached as much as two-tenths of an inch near DC Ranch in north Scottsdale.

Totals were sure to rise, as the skies weren't expected to clear until after midnight.

The storm system also ushered in cooler temperatures, with readings ranging from 54 degrees in Scottsdale to 45 degrees at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

In the eastern Mogollon Rim and higher elevations of southeast Arizona, forecasts called for up a foot of snow.

According to the National Weather Service, the last time measurable rain fell on the Valley was Dec. 29.
