A Department of Public Safety officer was in critical condition late Tuesday night after a vehicle t-boned his car earlier in the day.
According to DPS officials the officer’s vehicle was struck on the passenger side at approximately 3:52 p.m.Tuesday on the eastbound I-10, near the mile post 357.
The officer was taken to the intensive care unit at a hospital in Tucson but authorities were not yet releasing the officer’s name or photograph pending notification of family.
The investigation is still ongoing and reasons for the accident may not be known for several days, said DPS authorities.
