The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is working to track down who vandalized Queen Creek High School.
According to Lt. John D’Amico, the damage is estimated at $8,000 and the vandalism includes graffiti in a courtyard and about 30 door locks that were damaged with glue.
D’Amico said the grafitti was not related to street gangs.
The school’s recently resurfaced track was also damaged with graffiti, said principal Angela Chomokos.
“It was malicious vandalism,” said Chomokos, who told the school board about the damage on Tuesday.
D’Amico said investigators have leads and will be reviewing surveillance video.
He said a school worker discovered the damage at 5 a.m. Monday.
