Buildings qualify for historic register plaques

Nearly 40 of Tempe's oldest buildings are eligible for new bronze plaques indicating they're on the city's Historic Property Register.

The markers include the property's name, the year it was built and its number on the registry. Each plaque costs $130. The Historic Preservation Foundation offers professional installation. For Tempe-owned structures and buildings including the Mill Avenue bridge, the city is seeking sponsors to fund plaques.
