The Arizona Department of Transportation is giving drivers a break over Thanksgiving by pulling in its orange cones.

ADOT says it is holding off on work requiring closures to ease travel and promote safety as the holiday travel season gets under way.

Drivers are urged to prepare for trips ahead of time and use caution when out on the road, especially when traveling through existing work zones.

Those locations include State Route 87 between the Phoenix area and Payson, U.S. 93 near Hoover Dam and Grand Avenue in the Phoenix area.
