Kindergarten's Pioneer Activities and Lunch Support (K-PALS) is a new student volunteer program at Gilbert's Pioneer Elementary School. During lunch recess, the group of sixth-graders assists kindergartners in opening containers, carrying lunch trays, and making sure the children leave the table clean and ready for the next group of students.

K-PALS also help new Pioneer students feel welcome and are available throughout the school year to assist with kindergarten activities.
