Tax payer subsidized projects seem to be the new cash cow for developers.
The project going in on 1st Avenue, west of Center Street, is being built on tax credits and the developer doesn't even have an office in Mesa. They're based in Tempe and are just using the name "Mesa" in their latest tax guzzling venture's name for show.

I have seen deals like this in big cities in the past, such as San Francisco, LA, NY etc. They are called "the projects" and they end up in being the slum areas in the city with all the crime that comes with it. Mesa, don't do it.

Please stall indefinitely!! This development should not be built here in the city center. Make a gorgeous apartment complex and farmers market or arts district. Not low housing that FAILS! It brings the neighborhood DOWN!! I have lived here for over 5 decades....Lets make MESA SHINE FOR A CHANGE!!![wink]
