Chandler police are asking for the public's help in identifying two tattoo-covered men in a blue Nissan pickup truck who assaulted a woman after hitting her vehicle and stabbing her in the head with a pocket knife on Wednesday.

The woman, 46, was attacked about 8:30 p.m. at the entrance of Chandler-Gilbert Community College north of the autoplex and near the Gilbert border. She was taken to the hospital and treated for cuts on her head and is now at home recovering from the attack.

The two men in the truck slammed into the back of her car before trying to carjack her when they demanded the keys to her car. When the woman got out of her car, the driver of the truck tackled her, and when she fought back and refused to surrender her keys, he stabbed her in the back of the head. The men left without taking her car, and nearly ran over her as they sped away, according to police.

There have not been any other reports from others whose vehicles have been struck from behind as a mode of operation to be robbed or carjacked, according to Detective Seth Tyler, a Chandler police spokesman.

"We've never had anything like this happen," he said.

Although both of the men, who are described to be white males in their 20s, have numerous tattoos, one of the men has a beard and the other man is clean shaven.

If anyone has any information on the attack or knows the men, they should call Chandler police at (480) 782-4130.

Why didn't this publication use the politically correct description "light skinned"? When the suspect is black, they call him "dark skinned" instead of black.

Reverse racism is growing and is unacceptable. Shame on the media.
