PHOENIX - Starting Thursday, voters who are registered in Arizona but live overseas will be able to vote online through a unique Web-based system offered by the Secretary of State.

Secretary of State spokesman Kevin Tyne says elections officials created the system to make it easier for voters in Arizona, especially those in the military.

The previous system required voters to send in their ballots using fax machines.

But Tyne says elections officials discovered that many military installations no longer have fax machines, making it difficult for the upcoming general election.

Voters interested in the new online voting system can get more information about the program through the Arizona Secretary of State's Web site.
