The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of a minor airplane crash Sunday morning at Scottsdale Airport, when the plane’s nose gear would not deploy for a landing.
The private plane was arriving from North Dakota and was preparing to land in Carefree with five people aboard. It was diverted to Scottsdale Airport about 9:41 a.m., after the nose gear would not deploy, according to Scottsdale police.
No one was injured when the plane touched down, causing minor damage to the aircraft and runway, police said.
The runway was closed for about 35 minutes while the plane was removed.
