Police are investigating the death of a 3-month-old infant girl at a north Scottsdale home that is a licensed family child care facility through the Department of Economic Security.

Someone made a 911 call at 11:20 a.m. Friday from a neighbor's house in the 12000 block of North 110th Street where the home is located to report that an infant was not breathing after she placed the baby in a crib for a nap. The caretaker told police when she checked on the baby about an hour later, she was not breathing.

The infant later was pronounced dead at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea hospital, according to police.

At the time the incident was reported, there was one caretaker in the home and four other children ranging in age from 3 to 5.

The caretaker is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
