The Gilbert Unified School District will hold public forums this week to gather input from the community on the attributes it wants in the district's next superintendent.

Superintendent Dave Allison announced earlier this year he will retire at the end of his current contract, June 30. Allison has worked for the district for 20 years. He was named superintendent in 2008.

The first two forums will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday: the first at Desert Ridge High School, 10045 E. Madero, Mesa and the second at Mesquite High School, 500 S. McQueen Road, Gilbert. Both will take place in the cafeterias of the schools.

Two forums will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday: the first in the cafeteria at Highland High School, 4301 E. Guadalupe Road, Gilbert; and the second in the library at Campo Verde High School, 3870 S. Quartz St., Gilbert.
