A Mesa man who answered a pounding at the door of his uncle's apartment was killed by a gun-wielding assailant.
Marcus Pena, 23, died at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn after being shot around 9 p.m. Sunday.
The suspect, described only as a Hispanic male in his early 20s, is still at large.
Police said when Pena answered the door in the 1000 block of South Longmore, the suspect barged in. One shot was fired into the ceiling before Pena was hit.
The suspect left on foot.
