Arizona’s foster care families have a lot of their plate — and it adds up as children start to go back to school.

To help, the nonprofit East Valley group Jose’s Closet, is collecting school items to give to families with foster care children. The group is in the need of anything school-related, but especially backpacks, mechanical pencils, markers, colored pencils, calculators and lined paper.

Donation boxes are located at Apache Junction’s Thunder Mountain Middle School, 3700 E. 16th Ave. Information also can be found at the group’s Facebook page as well.
