The Apache Junction City Council will have 13 names to choose from as a replacement for a council seat vacated by Joe Severs. Severs resigned after his house in Apache Junction was foreclosed upon. A council member has to maintain residence in the city to stay in office.

Former Mayor Doug Coleman and John Kantowski, who has served on the parks and recreation board and the planning and zoning board, are among applicants who will be interviewed 6 p.m. Monday at the council's work session. Also on the list is Elliott Fisher, who ran unsuccessfully for a Pinal County Supervisor's post in the Nov. 4 election.

Resident Ann Reid withdrew her name from the applicant list on Wednesday.

The council will vote on the matter on Nov. 18 at its regular session. Severs' term was to expire in June.
