Apache Trail High School will host a Mollen Immunization Clinic from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at the school’s Apache Junction campus, 945 W. Apache Trail.

While the majority of high school students may not need immunizations, ATHS is aiming to give area parents an opportunity to get immunizations and up-to-date records for their younger children — ages 2 to 14 — before the start of school.

Online registration can be completed at evtnow.com/34p. The form says “employee,” but disregard that. It is for public signup. Use the password “Apache.” For those without computer access, pick up a form at the ATHS front office.

Most insurance policies are accepted, including AHCCCS, and some families may be eligible for free vaccinations.

ATHS also plans to host a similar clinic from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 6.

For more on which immunizations are necessary, visit the Arizona Department of Health Services online at www.azdhs.gov/phs/immun. For more details on flu shots in general and Mollen, visit www.flushotusa.com.

It's nice to see a school do something for the community: particularly for students who they don't serve! The other schools should take notice.
