With her golden-brown eyes and fluffed out tail, 5-year-old Sophia is a true glamourpuss. She loves to have her gorgeous coat brushed – especially while lying on top of your chest on the couch, purring and kneading her paws.

But don’t be fooled into thinking Sophia is a couch cat. Oh no, just toss any kind of ball – balls with bells, sparkly balls, fuzzy balls, bouncy balls – and she will tear off after it, galloping and jumping. Get out the wand toy, and Sophia will soon be airborne in her enthusiastic effort to capture it. According to the folks at AZ RESCUE, she has excellent hang time and will even throw in a flip or two once in a while. She loves laser toys and toy mice too.

When Sophia isn’t cuddling up with a human or playing with her toys, she loves lounging on tall kitty condos. She will enjoy being your only feline family member.

For more information on Sophia, or other deserving animals, call Reducing Animal Euthanasia at Shelters through Commitment and Underlying Education at (480) 598-9410 or visit www.azrescue.org. The cost of adoption is $125 for cats and $150 for dogs, which includes spaying and neutering and some inoculations.
