Jason Lester, a world-class ultra-endurance runner who grew up in Phoenix and suffered serious injuries after a hit-and-run incident in Tempe nearly 20 years ago left him without the use of his right arm, is nearing the end of a 102-day, 4,800-mile biking and running trip across the United States as part of Nike’s Better World Campaign, promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle. Beginning at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, Lester will be at the Tempe Nike Factory Store at Arizona Mills Mall. Lester poses here next to a wall with a saying from famed runner Steve Prefontaine: "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice your gift." (Photo courtesy of Jason Lester)
