Sheep hearder Felipe Figueroa directs a flock of 2,100 sheep south down Signal Butte Road in East Mesa. The sheep are the first of two flocks of Dwayne Dobson's coming down from Greer on a 45 day trek that will end in a pasture in the south east valley. The trip taken northbound in the spring for breeding up north heads south for the offspring to be born since 1929. Beth Ann Thistlewood, of Mesa, and her daughter-in-law Rachel Thistlewood watched in amazement along the side of the road and said" This is part of the true west that still survives.
