Royale Theater
The Royale independent arts theater, located in downtown Mesa, announced Thursday on its website that it will shut down following a Christmas Eve showing of the 1970s cult film "Black Christmas." A farewell open house is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., with the screening beginning at 9 p.m.
