"Don’t Call Me Pig.” “Josefina Javelina.” “A Cowgirl and Her Horse.” “Only One You.”

These popular Arizona children’s books came from the creative minds of Conrad Storad, Susan Lowell, Jean Ekman Adams and Linda Kranz. The four of them, along with four other local authors, will participate in the first Arizona Imaginations fundraiser at Sibley’s West gift shop in Chandler on Saturday, April 5.

The book-signing event will raise funds for the Friends of the Chandler Public Library’s early-literacy programs in the community. It will include the Valley debut of Storad’s newest book, “The Monster in the Rocks.”

Storad, of Tempe, has penned more than 40 books, including “Lizards for Lunch,” and is a frequent guest at schools across the state. He has won national writing awards for his work. He will visit the store at noon.

Other authors attending:

11 a.m. - Ted Newman (Gilbert, “The Great Sonoran Desert”)

Noon to 2 p.m. - Jean Ekman Adams (Paradise Valley, “When Dogs Dream”); Linda Kranz (Flagstaff, “You Be You,” “Love You When,” “My Nature Book: A Journal and Activity Book for Kids”)

2 p.m. - Susan Lowell (Tucson, “Cindy Ellen: A Wild Western Cinderella,” “Dusty Locks and the Three Bears”); Heather and Tad Smith (Gilbert, “Tales of a Tombstone Tortoise”); Phyllis Karow-Trella (Show Low, “All Our Relations,” “I Got the Giggles,” “Shoe-Ploppity”); Albert Quihuis (Chandler, “Sofia’s Awesome Tamale Day,” “The Search for the Lost Art of Making Tortillas,” “Isabella’s Treasure”).
