Ultimate Imaginations has partnered with the Mesa Old West Days crew to give the long-running downtown event a facelift — and a new name.
Mesa Old West Fest, slated for Dec. 7, will give spectators a hint of what it was like to live in Mesa back in the days of cowboys and horse drawn carts, but it won’t be a complete re-creation of days gone by.
Faux gunfights on Main Street will go hand-in-hand this year with barbecue, entertainment for families, and a big emphasis on local country music acts.
“We’ve taken an already successful event and given it a little twist to make it more current, modern and ‘with it’. Mesa Old West Days has long been a beloved event here in Downtown, but we knew in order to grow, we had to bring in a younger generation of country music lovers and festival-goers,” stated Erica Weatherford, of Ultimate Imaginations, Inc. and Downtown Mesa Association, in a release.
