Phoenix’s Celebrity Theatre was named a historic landmark in September by The City of Phoenix, just in time for the venue’s 50th anniversary.

Originally named the Phoenix Star Theatre, the Celebrity was built in 1963 to be a conference center component of the Hiway House Convention Center. Its circular design features a 30-foot diameter rotating stage that can be configured three ways and spins 360-degrees.

With only 25 rows of seating available, audiences can enjoy seeing the entire stage multiple times in a performance.

This season, Celebrity Theatre’s lineup will include appearances by B.B. King on Nov. 30 and “America’s Got Talent” Star Jackie Evancho on Jan. 18, 2014.
