So far, so good in 2013 for Chandler Center for the Arts.

The venue has kicked off the new year with two sizable donations to its coffers: a $6,000 donation from Wells Fargo and a $2,500 donation from Kinder Morgan.

The money will help fund arts education for children in the community through CCA’s Connecting Kidz program. In 2011, that initiative served more than 4,000 children, according to spokesperson Brooke Peterson.

Opportunities offered through the program include Music Theatre Summer Camps, Theatre Kidz, Vision Kidz (in conjunction with the city’s downtown visual arts space Vision Gallery) and a Youth Advisory Council.
